persimmons

I am thankful for so many things: Love, family, wonderful friends... home, health, happiness. A good book by the fire, hiking in France, pine-scented soy candles, indoor formula cat food... There's so much! But right now I want to focus on persimmons. I am very thankful for persimmons. A fruit that tastes like custard or pie, in season at a time when custard or pie seems like both just-the-thing and way-too-much-right-now. And you can freeze persimmons, just pop them in the freezer, whole and unwrapped. When you take them out (and let them sit for fifteen minutes or so), they're essentially sorbet. Worth hoarding - and being thankful for.

Bon appetit!

Oh my gosh, this couldn't be any more beautiful! Unless I could eat it! Love the graphic quality of the fruit, the composition, everything!
