Allow me to introduce Pierre Robert. He is the dignified little wedge up front, flanked by golden apples. I met him the other day at the monthly cheese tasting at Quince. He seems so polite, doesn't he? And he is - that is, until you leave him out for a bit to warm to room temperature, and plate him up with a quince paste, a spiced pecan, maybe some dried cherries... that's when his true colors come out. His firm little shape will soften and ooze into a luscious, creamy goo; his "lingerie-like" mouthfeel (not my words, alas!) will render you speechless until you start blubbering and babbling like a fool. This is the cheese to invite over if you want all of your dinner guests to shut up for a moment, and then look at each other in dismay as they feel a new obsession forming, right this very minute. Oh, Pierre. You sneaky little cheese, you.

beautiful painting and thanks for the cheese info!
I thought you were talking about this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Robert
Your paintings are lovely.
Oh, how funny! I hope the human Pierre Robert doesn't think I'm calling him a "dignified little wedge"...
Oh yum. You make food sound like romance!
Ooo, I love what you've done with this cheese! And I'm always happy when one of our cheese tasting inspires -- thanks for joining us last week at Quince!
The entry lists this piece as 'available', but if one
clicks on it, one is taken to Etsy and told the item
does not exist. I'd like to buy the painting for friends,
but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that.
