lemons in a terra cotta dish

It's roast chicken season! Ok, ok, you're right: roast chicken is always in season. But nothing - and I really mean nothing (except for the smell of a wood fire, I suppose) - cuts through the chill in the air in a homier way than the smell of a chicken roasting in the oven. Which means that we must always keep lemons around, to season and stuff the buttery birds (preferably from Mountain View Poultry Farm) - with a little garlic and rosemary and olive oil... Sublime.
